For a convention that only started two years ago in 2014, the annual Santa Fe Comic Con is certainly a big hit with the fans of horror, Sci-Fi, cosplay and comics.
It has a truly impressive list of guests, activities, charity auctions and competitions and is associated with the New Mexico Tri Con, and the Albuquerque Comic Con – both very successful events.
The guest list is huge, and includes so many stars of the genre who don’t usually take part in the convention scene.
Linda Blair who played Regan in The Exorcist (1973) has appeared on the celebrity panels, as have actors Fred Williamson, and Tim Murphy.
David Prowse – the one and only Darth Vader, will be strutting his stuff, mingling with fans of the Star Wars films and signing autographs.
Marina Sirtis, star of Star Trek – The Next Generation, and Dean Cain – Superman, will be sitting on the guest panels waiting to chat to and answer questions from the audience.
The famous monster artist Basil Gogos will be in the Artists Alley, along with many other creative talents; Marvel and Wolverine artist, Joe Rubinstein, Warner Brothers animator, Keith Tucker and the creator of Lady Death, Brian Pulido will not only be mingling with fans of their work, but hopefully painting and sketching whilst doing so.
There will also be well known and lesser know guests from the world of cosplay; Kitty Kaboom and MCubed amongst others. They will be hosting workshops, giving talks and demonstrations and generally not blending into the background!
Add all of this to a massive list of vendors selling all manner of collectables, posters artwork, books, models, and even some props and one off pieces, and the Santa Fe Comic Con sure fire winner for everyone.
