ConnectiCon 2016 scheduled for July 7 July 10, 2016, will be a weekend-long celebration of pop culture. The multi-genre convention caters to fans of sci-fi, anime, comics, video games, etc. Cosplay contests, role-playing events, video game tournaments, and lively panel discussions are just a few of the ways attendees can participate in the fun.
ConnectiCon was founded in 2002 by fantasy and sci-fi fan Matt Daigle, who sought to establish a multi-genre convention close to home. The first ConnectiCon was held on the campus of The University of Hartford in 2003. The convention moved to its current at The Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Connecticut in 2005.
For fans who enjoy celebrity interaction Sean Patrick Astin (Lord of the Rings Trilogy), Michael Dorn (Star Trek Tom Kenny (Spongebob Squarepants) and actor John Rhys-Davies will do signings host Q&A sessions. Cartoon artist Steve Geiger and other celebrity guests will also take part in signings, workshops, and panel discussions. Two of the most popular events of the convention are the hilarious cosplay versions of The Dating Game and Death Match. Continuous screenings of pop culture movies and tv shows will help keep the fun at ConnectiCon 2016 going around the clock.
