Erie, Pennsylvania’s nerd community is getting hyped for the 4th annual Blurriecon! Fans of both gaming and anime are invited to come out to the Bayfront Convention Center for another great weekend of fun and fandom.
Put together by the Anime Club of Erie (ACE), Blurriecon started out small in 2013, but has grown to be an impressive convention over the years. The ACE, which meets monthly and hosts many events for otakus and geeks, set out with a humble goal: to create friendliest and most fun con.
Blurriecon has a focus on participation, with many special events and activities planned out. Special guests include renowned musician and producer Gavin Goszka, voice actor Daman Mills, artist Mike Bocianowski, and the cosplay group Abracadabra Productions. Cosplayer Katie Starr as well as the nerd rap duo 2d6 will also be returning to this year’s panel.
Attendees will be able to watch anime and play card games and tabletop RPG’s. There will also be many interactive events such as the Iron Cosplay, where you can make a costume, the Draw Party, where you can draw, and the Otaku Pajama Party. There will also be the Dramatic Fanfiction Reading, which the organizers promise will be hilarious.
There will be artists, craftspeople and other vendors selling great stuff throughout the convention weekend. Cosplay is encouraged, and parents are welcome to bring their kids to the con.
